Saw this on http://www.lloydkahn.com a few days back….REAL COOL. The undercarraige deck/platform area actually hangs on chains!

I’ve never seen anything like this before, and actually have a sketch from a ways back of something semi-similar, which will end up in the wayyy-down-the-road book release (a follow-up to “Humble Homes, Simple Shacks…”

I’m off to the Scituate, MA Front Street Book Shop/Store today to scout out a parking/display spot for my new “Boxy Lady” mobile cabin, which will be on display all next weekend as part of the Scituate Heritage Days Festival. This Fest is GREAT- and is loaded with live music performances. Its FREE too. Last year Foghat, The James Montgomery Band, and Ernie Boch And The Automatics (ex-members of BOSTON) performed- yes, FREE. Its a gorgeous seaside town too.

“Middle Of Nowhere” Rhode Island Clubhouse/Shed/Fort/Shack…Reedy’s Woodworking

FOR SALE! Fort/Shack/Hut/Cabin/Garden Shed/Clubhouse/YOUR future non-corporate, unconventional office, whatever you want to call it…. on my way to my CT Author’s Trail meet and greet, I spotted this on the side of the road on Route 6 in “The Ocean State”- Rhode Island. I thought it was too cool to pass up- and it seems reasonably priced- considering all the time and materials that would go into building, painting, and staining something like this.

Unfortunately, the shop was closed, but it was loaded with some great handmade, yankee woodworking…

"The Boxy Lady" a transforming sleeper/kiosk- ALMOST finished- which will be in "Tiny Yellow House" Episode #5- SOON.

Thanks to those who came out to Sprague, CT last night- it was a blast, I had one of my brand new mobile cabins on display (which was surprisingly easy to load onto my trailer by myself) and the speaking engagement was filmed and will be on youtube at some point.

All in all, it was a small gathering of about 30 people, and everyone seemed to have lots of fun. I also showed our brand new episode of “Tiny Yellow House” featuring my own VT cabin, which went over real well too…that’ll be on youtube soon as well….

Not exactly tiny, but small-house builders could utilize some of these cool (although some are merely aesthetic) designs….

Lots goin’ on down in Brazil, it seems, aside from homicide….lol. No, I’d love to travel there some day! -Deek

Off to The Sprague CT Library to speak/display a micro-house of mine today- 6:30 pm- FREE! Should be fun!

It doesn’t get any cooler than this….(wine bottle windows/houses/walls)

"Man, its all WHITE wine, and I was in the mood for red...." (A Wine Wall from Death Valley)

I’ve always been a fan and employer of wine bottle usage in my buildings/cabins. At some point, in fact, having now acquired a couple hundred empty ones (what can I say, I’m a martyr!), I plan on incorporating a wine bottle wall/window into a small addition off the side of my own “tiny yellow house”. (Yup, that’s where my TV show’s name came from….(originally the name of my micro-carpentry company)).

Hey, if the materials are free….

Here’s a cool article on wine bottle construction… http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/03/recycled_wine_b.php

And a shot of Doc Hope’s Wine Bottle House….

Today's Random Shot: A mobile gypsy meditation wagon I found online. I love the colors!

First off- last reminder- but tomorrow (thursday)- I’ll be doing a tiny house/living speaking engagement and “meet and greet” at the Sprague/Baltic CT Public Library at The Grist Mill, as part of the Connecticut Author’s Trail/Series- sponsored by the Mohegan Sun Casino. 6:30 pm- its FREE! I’ll have a tiny mobile cabin on hand- on display- and you’ll get a sneak peak at the brand new VT episode of “Tiny Yellow House”- assuming the library’s dvd player doesn’t go haywire!

Speaking of which, I just shot yet another episode of “Tiny Yellow House” yesterday- and I have the sunburn to prove it! This future episode (when edited) will focus on my now completed mobile kiosk-shelter “The Boxy Lady”…. Steven Sherrick was behind the camera again- and this episode was HUGE fun- which will hopefully be conveyed on screen.

ALSO- Don’t worry, we’ll get that Jay Shafer/Tiny Tumbleweed House Episode out there soon too!

Interview w/Alex Pino of Tinyhousetalk.com- in Matlacha Florida (tiny house tour)

Here’s part one of two short videos I shot this past week in Matlacha, Florida, while doing some scouting for “Tiny Yellow House” TV. This first video is a yack-a-thonic, fun little interview we did by a canal on this tiny island. Part two (soon), is a tiny home overview and tour of this town/area.

Also, as I mentioned- the most recent to join in on supporting/sponsoring “Tiny Yellow House” TV are:

   Aaron’s Rain Barrels- http://www.ne-design.net

and artist, Lorraine Lewin http://www.LLPainter.com (she’s incredible!)

Both are VERY hard working, d.i.y’ers so check ’em out….and MUCHO thanks!
